Oilcloth Lunch Bag Tutorial / How-To

I found a tutorial QUICKLY for an oilcloth lunch bag! I have some oilcloth that I've kept for years, not knowing what to use it for. I'm definitely going to use it for this lunch bag, and I'm sure I'll have enough of it to make a matching makeup bag, too! I'll probably make some for my Etsy.

Free business cards

I just got my first business cards in the mail the other day.
They're purty, and red, and they have my shop and email and stuff on them. But I hadn't put my blog on them because I wasn't using it at the time, so I guess I'll just have to write it on them myself. Which is fine! At least I have business cards!
Oh, and I also got an awesome new phone- for free.

So I think my Etsy quota will be AT LEAST 2 new items a week. That means I better get working!

Business and Life Goals: Within the next year...

I know, it's totally the middle of the night. But I'm awake, as usual, and I have a bit of a sore throat.
I've been thinking about my business/life/stuff goals for the near future. In no particular order:

1. Have some sort of monthly quota(and income!) for my Etsy, and diversify my products. Do sketches. Post them here. Develop blog concepts.
2. Keep up daily blog entries, include more writing (and of course keep posting pictures) and refer to current favorite blogs and websites.
3. Develop, improve on photo quality for blog and Etsy.
4. By this time next year, have enough quality inventory to enter into a craft fair. Preferably the one in Austin in October or maybe Fiesta Arts Fair, King William Fair, First Friday here...
5. Get and keep this voice teacher job!

That's all I got for now. I'll probably add to this list later.

Another new owl! This, of course, is my favorite because it's the newest, and I did a new little thing to make it look like he has feathers. I'm becoming more passionate about embroidery. If you want to see some super-cool embroidery, (based here in Texas!) check out:

The "Day of the Dead" pattern is one of my favorites.

I can't wait to get some of those patterns and try them out myself!

my collection...

i'm building up a collection of owls! they're all for sale on my etsy: http://www.carlygarza.etsy.com/ , except for the little owl lamp that snuck into the family photo. i think i'm progressing in quality with each new owl i make and each new embroidery technique i learn. i'm becoming way more dedicated to my shop, and should be posting new items several times a week.
